Summer Program

Spectacular Summer Program in the Ancient City of Tzfat

July 1st to August 30th 2008 (minimum stay 2 weeks )

Medical Insurance compulsory and can either be booked through our office at a student rate of $1 per day ( payment by credit card only ), or through your own broker.

Transportation

Transportation to Tzfat from the airport…..

Private driver can be arranged through our office. The cost is approximately US$120. If you arrive in Israel in the middle of the night, the cost is 10% more.

Another alternative is to take a taxi or Shirut from Ben Gurion Airport to Bnei Brak. Ask the driver to put you off at Rabbi Akiva and Chazon Ish. From there ask where bus #980 to Tzfat stops. Full time table can be obtained on the internet www.egged.co.il (please note the spelling on the internet site is: Bene Beraq and Zefat ) .

  Another alternative is to take a train from the airport to Acco, and then a regular Egged bus to Tzfat.

Serious Ulpan

Experienced, expert teachers will provide sessions at both beginner and intermediate levels, custom designed to enable you to gain a command of spoken and written Hebrew.

Eli Nosson and Hindy Silberberg !

Yes! The young couple who made such a great hit over the past 7 summers, will be back again, providing their own special brand of energy and inspiration. Rabbi Eli Nosson will again teach Jewish Philosophy, expounding upon the works of the Bal HaTanya, Rabbi Shneur Zalman of Liadi and the mystical depths of the Torah. He will conduct traditional Chassidic Farbrengens in his inimitable, friendly, inspiring style. Hindy will teach her popular classes in prophets and ethics of the fathers and lead the students in a wide variety of creative projects.

Excursions and Field Trips
Experience Nature and History through Machon Alte's tours with experienced tour guides.
(There will be a small additional fee for trips and excursions)

Excursions and field trips to historical sites and areas of natural beauty throughout Israel are an integral part of the Machon Alte educational experience. They augment classroom study and arouse a general love for our promised land and its people.

This summer's tours include:

Golan Heights – July

Hiking through the mountains of the Golan Heights, swimming in natural springs and cooling off under waterfalls, visiting the ancient synagogues and restored Talmudic village in Katzrin – experiencing Jewish history come alive

Hevron – August

Spending an inspiring Shabbat in the city of our Patriarchs and Matriarchs praying together at he holy grave sites of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob; Sarah, Rivkah and Leah. Touring the Judean valley, including the “Palm Springs” where Yehuda and Tamar met, Tel Azika – where the battle of David and Goliath took place, “Crawling experience” through secret passage ways from the period of the Bar Kochba revolution.

Upper Galilee – August

A water hike in an upper Galilee oasis, swimming in the harp shaped Sea of Galilee and rafting down the Jordan River .
