Machon Alte's Russian Program caters mainly to students with little or no knowledge whatsoever of their Jewish Heritage and with minimal textural skills.

With patience and expertise our teachers introduce students from the former Soviet Union to the concept of G-d, Torah and the Commandments. All classes at a beginning level are conducted in Russian.

Students who come from Russia with a certain knowledge of their Jewish Heritage and with basic textural skills are encouraged to join our Hebrew program.

For Shabbat and the Jewish holidays students are placed with the many religious Russian families who live in Tzefat. Girls quickly adjust and feel at home attending services in the synagogues who cater to Russian students and immigrants.
